Smooth transfer control algorithm of continuous segment trajectory in CNC system
Published in Journal of Tsinghua University (Science and Technology), 2007
A new control algorithm was developed to realize smooth transfers along a continuous segment trajectory in CNC systems. The control algorithm solution process was described with an error analysis.

Design of air-operated spring-based stand assist chair tracking knee joint torque for the elderly
Published in Virtual and Physical Prototyping, 2007
The article discusses the development of an air-operated spring-based stand assist chair designed to help elderly individuals stand up safely and effectively by mitigating risks like dizziness and falls, using experiments and human pace analysis to optimize its design and function.

Interpolation of continuous micro line segment trajectories based on look-ahead algorithm in high-speed machining.
Published in International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2008
In this paper, an interpolation method based on look-ahead algorithm is presented. With the proposed method, CNC systems can predict the variation of the curvature of the coming trajectory so that adaptively determine whether accelerates the interpolation feedrate to enhance machining efficiency or decelerates the feedrate to guarantee the machining precision.

An efficient buffer design algorithm for production line profit maximization
Published in International Journal of Production Economics, 2009
This paper presents an effective algorithm for maximizing profits through buffer size optimization for production lines, subject to the nonlinear production rate constraint.

The look-ahead function based interpolation algorithm for continuous micro line trajectories
Published in International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2011
This paper presents an interpolation algorithm that is based on the look-ahead function. The look-ahead-based feedrate planning is elaborated from the aspects of trajectory feedrate description, feedrate preplanning, and feedrate planning.

Improvement of the evaluation of closed-loop production systems with unreliable machines and finite buffers
Published in Computers & Industrial Engineering, 2014
This paper presents two modifications that improve the algorithm of Gershwin and Werner (2007) for closed-loop systems. Two new special types of two-machine one-buffer building blocks are developed for the decomposition, and analytical solutions for them are found.

A segmentation approach for solving buffer allocation problems in large production systems
Published in International Journal of Production Research, 2016
This paper describes a newly observed property of production line optimization. The property allows an original long line to be decoupled into several short lines for optimization.
